Lisa

My biggest inspirations are the children I work with and other practitioners I’ve met along the way. We can learn so much from each other if we listen with an open heart.
I feel privileged to be able to do what I do and say it’s my career.

I’ve worked in childcare for over 30 years with the path for the past 10 leading to SEN. I’m a big believer that there is always a reason for a behaviour and have dedicated my time to finding those reasons and how best to work with the most vulnerable and challenging young people. I have extensive training and experience in many areas and I’m also a Thrive practitioner.

What do you enjoy teaching the most?

Wellbeing, and anything that uses the imagination, stories, poems and bringing out the creative side to our young people

What can our young people expect on a typical day out with you?

An adventure – exploring somewhere new and finding exciting challenges. A lot of fun, and possibly some bad singing thrown in throughout the day!

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

Spending time with my family, being outdoors, reading, the theatre, catching up with friends and going for a nice meal.

What is your favourite outdoor space?

Anywhere where I can listen to water: the waves on the beach, the river trickling through the forest, the rain in the canopy above.
