HAF returns for Summer 2023
This summer, we will be hosting two options for HAF programmes for children based in Torbay and surrounding areas: a Treacle Valley wilderness adventure, and games and play at the ROC centre in Chelston, Torquay.
Taleblazers takes pride in being a recognised provider of the Torbay Council’s Healthy Holidays (HAF) scheme. These free school holiday programmes, funded by Torbay Council, primarily cater to children who receive free school meals. They are designed to ensure that children and young people can enjoy their school breaks in a secure yet wild setting. All activities are supervised by qualified staff and aim to positively impact the participants’ health and well-being, as well as help them develop new skills.
We also maintain a waiting list system to offer any unused places to children who may not meet the funding criteria. While the activities primarily target children in Years 3-6, we do consider older and younger children, especially if they are siblings of eligible participants.
