National Plant Monitoring Scheme

We are proud to be involved in the National Plant Monitoring Scheme which is run by the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland, Plantlife, the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee. We survey two botanical sites on Dartmoor, visiting twice a year to record the plant species growing in our square. Being part of this volunteer project helps us to develop our botany skills and contributes important ecological data about the abundance and diversity of plants in the plots. We love Dartmoor and this project allows us to help to conserve the national park by helping to assess the health of its habitats.
