Since summer 2023 we have been running a road safety programme on behalf of, and funded by, Torbay Council. We have put together a free road safety pack for schools to download and use themselves, plus the facilitation of some free workshops for Torbay primary schools. By the end of summer 2023 had run sessions in nine different schools with almost 1000 children in KS2 having benefitted from the workshops. The programme has been extended into the 2024-5 academic year thanks to Vision Zero South West who have continued the funding to allow us to visit every one of Torbay’s primary schools. For the final session of summer 2024 we visited Barton Hill Academy along with the police and fire service, it was a fantastic day with local councillors, Spotlight, Vision Zero and the local press all in attendance. It was amazing to see our project on regional TV! Here is the video that Vision Zero made on the day:
